Tork, market leader in Europe and global brand of Essity, introduces the new Natural hygiene products, giving quality a sustainable colour. The soft and efficient towels and toilet paper are made from 100% recycled fibres. Quality and sustainability are no longer mutually exclusive; Tork Naturel hygiene products provide a great guest experience while improving sustainable hygiene management.
Have you ever used the commonly available brown paper towels or toilet paper? Because of their limited absorbency, unpleasant feel on the skin and giving the impression of lower quality, they were not liked by guests, employees and other end-users in the past. For the new Tork Natural products, professional hygiene experts have turned rough into soft and given high quality a new colour. The towels and toilet paper are soft, efficient and made from 100% recycled fibres. The Tork Naturel range for washrooms is another step towards a circular economy while responding to changes in the paper market.
Tork has been using high-quality recycled materials for its products for years. "Recycled fibres of better and brighter quality such as office paper and newspapers have become a scarce commodity. With more people working from home and companies increasingly switching to paperless working, there is less supply of recycled office paper." says Tomas Gandemo, Global Brand Innovation Manager at Tork. "We looked for alternative fibre sources to secure access to recycled fibre. With the explosion of e-commerce, the supply of used cardboard boxes has increased worldwide. Therefore, Tork switched to using these recycled boxes as one such fibre source."
The innovative products in the Tork Naturel range are soft and have the same quality as comparable Tork Advanced products. "Customers no longer have to choose between sustainability and performance. Tork Naturel products are a great choice for customers who want to show their commitment to the environment while maintaining the same high Tork quality.", says Ivette Pérez Badillo, Global Brand Director Toilet Systems. "It's a small sustainable statement, but many small actions add up to big change", she stresses.
In addition, all Tork Naturel products are compatible with Tork PaperCircle, the world's first paper towel recycling service. This innovative service makes it easy for businesses to participate in the circular economy by collecting used paper towels and recycling them into new tissue products, turning waste into a resource. Tork PaperCircle helps meet sustainability goals by reducing waste by up to 20%¹ and reducing CO2 emissions for paper towels by at least 40%².
Facility managers play an active role in the transition to a more sustainable and circular society. High-quality towels and toilet paper in a light brown colour are an easy way to show employees, guests and visitors that sustainability is a priority. User research³ shows that:
Tork's new tissue paper is made from 100% recycled fibres. 30 to 35% comes from used corrugated boxes such as shipping boxes. The rest comes from other recycled fibre sources, such as graded office paper. All products are FSC® and EU Ecolabel certified. Improving business performance through sustainable hygiene management is at the heart of Tork. "More high-quality natural products will therefore be launched in the coming years.", said Tomas Gandemo.
All Tork Natural refills can be used with existing Tork dispensing systems.
