Each diamond is created under very high pressure, resulting in a unique and enduring final product. Such is the case with Hotel The Diamond, located in the impressive building of the same name on Amsterdam's Leidseplein. This long-awaited five-star boutique hotel with 36 luxurious rooms will open its doors on 15 November, right in the bustling heart of the capital.
Behind the shimmering glass facade of Hotel The Diamond, experienced entrepreneurs Won Yip and Willem-Jan van den Dijssel, in collaboration with Q Hospitality Group and their extensive expertise in hotel management, have realised a stylish combination of international allure and modern Dutch design. Like many other projects, construction was delayed by delivery problems of building materials. As a result, the opening took longer. However, the extra pressure this brought made The Diamond shine even brighter. This gave the team time to refine internal processes and pay extra attention to staff training. Thanks to the extensive automation of the systems, booking, checking in and out and ordering room service is faster and more efficient, allowing hotel staff to fully focus on a personal, guest-oriented experience.
Thirty-six luxurious, tastefully decorated rooms and a touch of Amsterdam charm make The Diamond a unique haven for both the seasoned traveller and the modern explorer. The three room types are each designed with care and attention to the last square inch. Inspired by botanical gardens, the 'Botanique' rooms exude a serene calm through the use of soft earth tones. Fitted with round elements and sophisticated patterns, the 'Circle' rooms in turn evoke a sense of unity and connection. Finally, the 'Rattan' rooms take their name from the high-quality and luxurious material that plays a prominent role in the interiors. Here, comfort and a refined look take centre stage.
The building was designed by Roberto Meyer of MVSA Architects and inspired by the famous diamond Koh-I-Noor. The Diamond is already considered one of the most talked-about venues in Amsterdam. A place that also cherishes the history of the legendary Heineken Corner. Fully renovated, this iconic location returns to Leidseplein as part of The Diamond.
On the ground floor is the already opened Grand Café, an informal and accessible place where you can always go for a cup of coffee, lunch, dinner or a cosy drink on the terrace, for example. The menu offers a versatile selection, perfectly tailored to any time of day. On Friday and Saturday nights, a DJ takes the atmosphere to the next level.
On the first floor you will find the high-end fusion Steakhouse, where guests enjoy a culinary experience full of dynamism. The restaurant serves top dishes inspired by Latin American, Caribbean and Mediterranean cuisines, offering a unique blend of flavours and quality. The Steakhouse is a vibrant all-night destination, with an energetic atmosphere and live entertainment from Thursday to Saturday that completes the experience.
The Diamond offers its guests a home away from home, a luxury retreat with attention to detail and personalised service. From its opening on 15 November, The Diamond sets the standard high: in both the hotel experience and the culinary experience, it strives to exceed expectations and make every stay an unforgettable experience. Soon after, on 21 November, will follow the opening of the high-end fusion Steakhouse. More concepts within The Diamond will open their doors in the near future.
