It promises to be a special year for the famous five-star hotel on Amsterdam's canals. Pulitzer Amsterdam sees more market potential in its current spaces and is building two special suites in the hotel and a Beauty House in the Nine Streets area this year.
Earlier in 2023, Pulitzer Amsterdam transformed four rooms on the ground floor into "private refreshment rooms"; homely rooms to allow early arriving or late departing guests to refresh and relax. This year, the hotel will open the new "Merchant Suite", spread over three floors and extensive views of the stately Keizersgracht. The suite offers three bedrooms, three modern bathrooms, and a spacious living room with a connecting dining room including kitchenette. These special rooms are designed and furnished in the distinctive eclectic style of Creative Director Jacu Strauss while retaining the authentic splendour of the canal house but featuring modern comfort and design. Each stay includes an airport transfer and personal Concierge services.
The design of the new "Flower Collector's Suite", the second addition, is inspired by the city's rich botanical culture and this is reflected in the sophisticated glasswork of vintage greenhouses, lush floral tones from Amsterdam's famous flower market and of course, the celebrated Dutch tulip. This special suite complements Pulitzer's existing series of ground-floor suites on Keizersgracht, each dedicated to a specific theme, such as art, music, books and antiques. The Flower Collector's Suite offers the charm of a private flat in the heart of Amsterdam with its own entrance on the street side, a continuous corridor to the atmospheric living room, a separate bedroom and a Carrara marble bathroom.
In addition, Pulitzer Amsterdam this year announces the opening of a Beauty House on Reestraat. This 'house' will also be completely revamped in a Pulitzer design look and from spring onwards will offer a range of beauty treatments including facials, hair styling, nails and massages. The location in the Nine Streets gives the opportunity for a quick touch-up but also festive beauty treatments for groups. A destination in the middle of the Nine Streets where both hotel guests and Amsterdam residents walk in for relaxed luxury in a lively ambiance.
Hotel manager Caroline van Kessel shares her enthusiasm about the developments: "Hotels have long ceased to be just places to stay; they are destinations in their own right, steeped in special stories, real history and fine encounters. With the addition of the Merchant Suite and the Flower Collector's Suite in our canal houses, and the introduction of the Beauty House around the corner, we are strengthening our position as one of the most unique destinations in the city. We look forward to welcoming our guests to these beautiful new suites and offering them even more of a Pulitzer experience."
The new suites of Pulitzer Amsterdam are available for bookings from March and April 2024. The hotel will then have 223 keys (previously 225) in total. The Beauty House on Reestraat will open its doors in May 2024.
