A New Light for a New Chapter at Hotel Sans Souci

The Brasserie & Bar Veranda, after a recent redesign, now delights guests with the fresh concept "Modern art for all the senses. Blurring the lines between art, cuisine and design, the space invites guests to experience a sensory journey where sight, sound and taste come together. The restaurant's contemporary mix-and-match menu embraces creativity, with plant-based dishes, regional ingredients and seasonal flavours.

Guests dine under the mesmerising glow of a custom-made installation by Brand van Egmond, which serves as a striking centrepiece. This sophisticated light sculpture reflects the studio's philosophy of combining bold, artistic expression with functional elegance, leaving a lasting impression that takes the hospitality experience to the next level.

"Working with the team at Brand van Egmond was a very creative experience. They thoughtfully incorporated the design of our Brasserie & Bar Veranda and perfectly matched the colours and shape to create a unique, bespoke chandelier. Their approach was both constructive and attentive, constantly responding to our specific requirements and keeping us involved throughout the process by offering material samples. The collaboration continued after this project and each collaboration was equally productive and inspiring," Says Andrea Fuchs, Head of Hospitality at Sans Souci Sphere.

A new milestone in sculptural lighting

For Brand van Egmond, the new installation at Hotel Sans Souci is another milestone in the rich history of the studio, which illuminates grand hotels, magnificent residences, royal palaces and art museums. For founder William Brand, beauty alone is never enough; he also wants to surprise with his work.

"My light sculptures are designed to inspire," says William Brand, founder and designer at Brand van Egmond. "The inspiration for this work comes from one of my earliest childhood memories: blowing bubbles and being totally amazed at what I had created. I wanted to translate that wonderful feeling of wonder into a light sculpture for this beautiful location in the heart of the Austrian capital."

With its 35th anniversary, Brand van Egmond continues to light the way forward, with creations that embody both beauty and bold innovation. At Hotel Sans Souci, this legacy is now proudly on display, bringing a new level of artistic expression to one of Vienna's most exciting destinations.
