Minor Hotels, a global hospitality group with more than 540 hotels in 56 countries, is introducing Avani Hotels & Resorts in the Netherlands in the second quarter of this year. The renovated 163-room Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam offers a contemporary experience with canal views, a mix of Dutch art and history for business and leisure travellers.
Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam is centrally located in the cultural centre of Amsterdam, close to attractions such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. Inspired by the Stedelijk Museum, the hotel's design combines avant-garde aesthetics with rationalist architecture. The exterior of the sleek glass facade is balanced by a vibrant, playful interior and complemented by a mirrored finish in homage to Amsterdam's iconic canals.
The hotel's modern rooms and suites, some with floor-to-ceiling windows, are spread over seven floors. Fully furnished with stylish furniture, they are all equipped with the latest gadgets, including a power shower, Nespresso machine, clothes steamer, yoga mat and high-quality Bluetooth speaker. In-room dining is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an emphasis on healthy, fresh and delicious dishes. For fitness enthusiasts, the AvaniFit gym is open 24 hours a day, with state-of-the-art cardio equipment. In addition, the nearby Vondelpark offers excellent running trails.
On the ground floor of the hotel, an open lobby lounge shares space with The Pantry, Avani's signature grab-and-go concept. Here, guests can start their day in the Dutch capital with a delicious breakfast featuring local favourites or hot dishes prepared à la minute and served indoors or on the outdoor terrace. For travellers who like wellness, there are many healthy snacks on the menu, including vegan bites and smoothies.
Bustling P.C. Hooftstraat and De Pijp are a leisurely five-minute walk away. Amsterdam Central Station is just a ten-minute drive away, ensuring travellers a quick connection. For business appointments, the hotel offers fine meeting space, while the RAI Congress Centre is a short tram or metro ride away.
"The arrival of Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam marks an important milestone for Minor Hotels and reinforces our commitment to providing exceptional experiences to our guests worldwide. With this opening, Avani guests can immerse themselves in the artful design of our newest gem in the Netherlands," said Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels.
The upcoming launch of Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam follows the brand's recent expansion in Europe. Last year, hotels were added in Madrid, Milan and Venice, followed by the opening of the Avani Frankfurt City Hotel in early 2024, in addition to the upcoming debut of the Avani brand in China. With a strong presence in Asia, the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa, Avani continues to plan expansions to new destinations in 2024 to more than double the number of hotels to nearly 100 by 2026.
