Albron wins Horecava Innovation Award 2024 with Smaakchef

Albron, one of the largest Dutch foodservice organisations, has won the Horecava Innovation Award 2024 in the Concepts, Interior & Design category with its food and wellness concept Smaakchef as well as being named Overall Winner. This award recognises Albron for its innovative approach to providing food and drink at small-scale and special residential facilities.

Fresh food and drink and genuine attention from the Smaakchefs for residents make the concept so relevant. Smaakchef attracted the attention of the Horecava Innovation Award jury, which awarded the concept because of the quality and freshness of the meals, as well as the use of staff who are no longer able to work in the regular hospitality industry and thanks to relieving care staff in times of staff shortages. Jury chairman Puck Wilbers: "It's a lot of elements together. And therefore a rightful winner!".

The Taste Chef concept shows that food and drink also has an important social function. It creates connections and, thanks to the attention of the Taste Chefs, the meal becomes the highlight of the day for residents again.
