Avani Hotels & Resorts, the upscale lifestyle brand of Minor Hotels, is expanding further in Europe with the launch of Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam Hotel. Housed in a renovated mid-century building in the city's Museum Quarter, this 163-room canal-side hotel offers an ideal base for tourists and business travellers alike. Guests also have the opportunity to enjoy a number of unique experiences in Amsterdam created through innovative collaborations.
Inspired by the Stedelijk Museum's extensive collection, the hotel design combines avant-garde with traditional elements to create a modern and inviting interior. The use of brick, adds a touch of Amsterdam's architectural identity to the gleaming glass façade that adorns the hotel. Inside, clean lines and practical furniture reflect functionalism and rationalism. The use of mirrors and polished surfaces echo the tranquillity of the babbling canals. The geometric patterns and block colours of carpets, tiles and furniture are inspired by art by famous 20th-century artists such as Piet Mondrian, Anni Albers, Gunta Stölzl and Sophie Taeuber, completing the artistic fusion in the design.
Avani's spacious rooms and suites are inspired by the 1960s and finished in warm shades of terracotta, mustard yellow and deep brown, echoing the hues in Amsterdam's streetscape. Spread over seven floors, some with panoramic windows, the rooms are equipped with all modern amenities. After a day of exploration or meetings, guests can relax with Chromecast TV, practice yoga in the room or listen to a podcast via high-quality Bluetooth speakers. Drinks and snacks are available 24/7 and include plenty of healthy options, while the 24/7 AvaniFitgym is equipped with cardio machines for a complete workout. Vondelpark is nearby, with excellent running and walking routes.
On the ground floor of the hotel is an open lobby lounge leading to The Pantry, Avani's grab-and-go dining concept. In the morning, guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet with à la minute hot dishes, healthy snacks, vegan snacks, local pastries and smoothies. In the warmer months, the outdoor terrace overlooks a green courtyard garden and serves savoury snacks and sweet treats.
Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam collaborates with local pioneers to create tours that highlight the playful side of Amsterdam. In collaboration with one of the city's influencers and founder of Girls Who Magazine, the dynamic Street Art Tour invites guests to explore Amsterdam's authentic neighbourhoods in search of hidden street art. In the summer months, sporty guests can supp through the canals with Canal SUP, stopping for pizza and local beer or cooling off at a swimming spot. Avani guests can experience one of the latest wellness trends with THIS.IS.EDEN, an Amsterdam-based initiative that combines dance with meditation, accompanied by electronic beats through individual headsets in a "silent disco" format. Held in Amsterdam's green parks, rooftop terraces or clubs, these sessions offer a unique opportunity to shift the focus from the mind to the body through dynamic movement techniques.
Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam is just steps away from some of the city's most renowned cultural attractions: the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum. Guests have access to the busy P.C. Hooftstraat and the lively De Pijp district, both a five-minute walk away. Amsterdam Central Station can be reached in ten minutes by taxi, and for business travellers, RAI Exhibition and Congress Centre is a 25-minute walk away.
