De Plesman: New luxury lifestyle hotel opens in iconic former KLM headquarters in The Hague

In spring 2025, the Plesman will open its doors in one of The Hague's most iconic monumental buildings. With the opening, the former KLM headquarters will have a unique and inspiring new interpretation, building on the legacy of KLM founder Albert Plesman. With over 100 rooms and suites, 20 serviced apartments (already rented out), the modern brasserie Suus, Albert Bar & Lounge as the beating heart, a high-quality gym, various meeting and event spaces and much more, De Plesman offers a hospitality experience that meets the needs of guests looking for a unique and personalised experience.

In the 1939 building, designed by architect Dirk Roosenburg, the pioneering spirit of KLM president Albert Plesman still haunts the hotel. Hotel De Plesman is therefore proud that his vision of bringing people together, connecting and inspiring them, can be continued here. The excellent accessibility by public transport and car, its central location in The Hague and Schiphol Airport only 30 minutes away, make De Plesman an outstanding meeting place for international guests, locals and companies from the wider area.

In the national monument, architectural influences from the Nieuwe Haagse School are organically interwoven with influences from other movements. With an eye for detail for that unique architecture and the surroundings, design studio Nicemakers created the new interior. The distinctive and incomparable atmosphere makes the lively Albert Bar & Lounge bustle and makes it the place where guests and residents of The Hague can meet in a relaxed manner. The Deli makes it easy to pop in for freshly baked bread and delicacies. The various meeting and event spaces - including one with its own kitchen and also a small cinema - make De Plesman attractive for - both formal and informal - meetings and events. Restaurant Suus will be the ideal place for both business and private meetings, Suus' mezzanine is ideally suited for larger parties of up to 70 people and the large sunny terrace can accommodate 100 guests.

To complement the design, De Plesman put together its own art collection; a unique mix of works by renowned artists. In collaboration with a local gallery, works by Casper Faassen, Soo Burnell, Levi Jacobs and Jeroen Hofman, among others, were curated for this purpose.

All rooms feature high ceilings, unobstructed views and the 30 studios and suites have a stylish kitchen, ideal also for longer stays.
