Hampshire Hotel-Delft Centre undergoes musical makeover

After 13 years, it's time for a refresh of the rooms at Hampshire Hotel- Delft Centre. 'Futureproof' and a nod to the music theme are at the top of the wish list. The hotel found an expert collaboration partner in Muurbloem Design Studio. The company, which specialises in interior design, creates special designs that perfectly match the hotel's character.

After extensive consultation and design approval, the renovation will start in November 2023. The entire team will join forces to clear and redecorate, floor by floor, the 92 rooms. All this while the hotel remains operational for hotel guests. Contractors fit the rooms with unusual walls and floors inspired by musical styles. Ranging from rock to reggae, hip-hop to classical. Finally, in March 2024, the top floor will be finished and the work will be complete. 

Sustainability is at the heart of the project. This has been taken into account in the choice of materials. For instance, the carpet is made of recycled plastics and old fishing nets, fully circular and will be taken back for reuse after 10 years. The wall covering consists of 100% recycled polyester with a protective coating based on potato starch from the food industry.

The new lighting plan not only improves the accommodation, but also meets the requirements for Green Key Gold certification. Old furniture has been given a second life and wallpaper scraps have been upcycled into original bags by the Stunt Foundation.

With the completion of this renovation, Hampshire Hotel- Delft Centre has added a new dimension to the guest experience.
