"Hotelier of the Year - Special Award" goes to Ruby founder & CEO Michael Struck

The prestigious hotel industry award "Hotelier of the Year - Special Award", presented by the ahgz, will go to Ruby founder & CEO Michael Struck in 2023. The Hotel Group has been pioneering innovation with its Lean Luxury philosophy for a decade, creating a contemporary, affordable form of luxury.

At the German Hotel Congress last night, the prestigious industry award "Hotelier of the Year" from the ahgz (Allgemeine Hotellerie und Gastronomie Zeitung) was presented through a festive gala. Around 1,000 invited guests came to the meeting of the hotel industry, which took place at the Europapark Rust. Michael Struck, founder and CEO of Munich-based Ruby Hotel Group, received the Special Award for his success and innovations in the hotel industry.

Since 1990, the ahgz has been rewarding outstanding achievements in the hotel industry. This year, the jury consisted of 11 industry experts. The evening was hosted by Rolf Westermann, editor-in-chief of ahgz, and actress Jessica Schwarz. Commenting on the presentation of the "Special Award" to Michael Struck, the jury said: "With his 'Lean Luxury' philosophy, Michael Struck developed the Ruby Hotel concept, which he has been implementing nationally and internationally with great success for ten years. After expansions in Germany and Europe, as well as in Asia, New York is now also on the wish list. Cooperation with renowned investors secures the expansion. The key points of the Lean concept are: They are all prime locations; use of space and processes are optimised as you do not often see in hotels. Space is used wisely; check-in can be done in seconds and a bar is available 24 hours a day for relaxation." 

Michael Struck created Ruby in 2012, founded the company in 2013 and today there are 15 hotels in operation and 21 under construction. Ruby employs more than 500 people in 11 countries, including Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Malta, Ireland, France, Austria and Italy, as well as a joint venture in China.
