The Next Generation!

Landgoed Hotel Groot Warnsborn has been a hotel since 1932. Before that, it was a private country house for mainly rich and noble families. Because there was a stock market crash in 1929, the family went bankrupt and it was converted into a hotel. Unfortunately, the Manor was totally destroyed in WWII but was fortunately restored by Marshall Aid.

Lammert and Sjoukje de Vries took over the hotel in 1989 and have since totally renovated the Koetshuis, the Oranjerie and later the Landhuis into a beautiful Hotel with 40 luxurious rooms, Restaurant La Belle Source and Brasserie De Bron. In addition, the Orangery with terraced gardens has been transformed into a unique wedding and party venue. Finally, since 2014, the estate also has its own vineyard. We have been making a delicious Champenoise De Bruisende Barones since 2018!

After almost 34 years, Lammert and Sjoukje de Vries will hand over the baton to Gjalt and Jante de Vries. They will take over the reins at Landgoed Hotel Groot Warnsborn from 1 January 2023.

"We are extremely proud and grateful that 2 of the four children want to continue the business. We are confident that they will further develop Groot Warnsborn in terms of comfort, service and hospitality!", say Lammert and Sjoukje. Both children have been working for quite a number of years and over the next three years, Lammert and Sjoukje will increasingly wind down and Gjalt and Jante will increasingly build up. Naturally, nothing else will really change for the company, its staff and guests.

"For several years, Jante and Gjalt have been acting at the highest level in the company. But now they actually get to be directors, for the first time under a magnifying glass and visible to all employees and guests. The son - and daughter of.... Their destiny?!?.... No, they genuinely chose this themselves. The son and daughter of -, are now simply Gjalt and Jante de Vries, the next generation and absolutely self-earned and willed!

Jante and Gjalt want to make the hotel even more beautiful, luxurious, culinary and sustainable. With their entire team, they want to make the Pearl of Gelderland shine even more!
