When he was a student, Samir Haidari, general manager of Asenso Facilities BV, already had the idea of setting up a cleaning company. After a successful career in the automotive industry, he decided to realise his idea. Now, Haidari offers security services in addition to cleaning.
The idea of offering security services arose during the lockdown. There was almost no work in the hotel industry or in cleaning. However, it proved necessary to secure all empty properties. Haidari could not sit still during that period. He saw his opportunity and applied for the intensive security services course. Successfully, a year later he got the official licence from the Ministry of Justice and Security. This licence, which falls under the Private Security Organisations and Investigation Agencies Act (Wpbr), is not granted lightly. This makes Asenso a one-stop shopping experience, offering housekeeping, window cleaning, specialist cleaning, reception work and security. "We can thus completely unburden our customers," he says.
When you think of security guards, you might think of tough doormen. "Security guards in the hotel industry, on the other hand, fulfil a unique dual role," says Haidari. "They are not only the eyes and ears for security, but also a host or hostess of the hotel. We provide employees who look presentable as per the customer's requirements. Ultimately, our security guards are an extension of the hotel and interact with guests," Haidari states. "Such as greeting at the entrance, assisting with luggage, answering questions about the hotel and its surroundings and escorting guests to hotel facilities."
To arrive at the right advice, Asenso Beveiligingsdiensten first identifies the security risks together with the client and, if necessary, bodies such as the police and fire brigade. "With this information, we determine with our experts what tasks and responsibilities are required," Haidari explains. "In addition, all our security staff hold a First Aid (BHV) certificate. This is because the work of a security guard goes beyond just preventing emergencies. Because they have the knowledge and experience for it, they also come into action in an emergency. Think of situations when someone becomes unwell or when the fire alarm goes off."
Hotels benefit greatly from good security. Security guards ensure that both guests and staff are safe by paying close attention to who enters or leaves. "They can act quickly if something is wrong. Moreover, they watch over the valuables in the hotel, those of the guests and the inventory of the hotel itself. At night, security guards are extra important. As night receptionists, they help with essential reception services, such as check-in and check-out and other light administrative tasks. For many hotels, it is difficult to fill that shift with their own staff. Security guards play an indispensable role in the 24-hour operation of a hotel. They also ensure that hotel rules are followed. Which areas guests have access to and how much noise is allowed."
Security is more than just protection according to Haidari. "It encompasses a broad playing field that we as Asenso Security like to fill in. Both in the interest of the client and the guests It is tailor-made. During a festival, we deploy different types of security guards than in the hotel industry. And you can also imagine deploying a different type of security at Pinkpop than at an Andre Rieu concert."
Where it started for Haidari with the satisfaction of a fresh and clean environment under Asenso Cleaning Services, Asenso Security Services gives him additional satisfaction. "With security services added, we can offer a total facility care package. For a nice, clean and safe environment for guests, clients and employees. That's what you do it for."
