Tachup Deco Projects is expanding. The company has been realising customised interior projects for more than 15 years and was growing out of space. A new office in Doetinchem offers all possibilities for the future. Owner Martin Groenewege: "All kinds of products and samples are available here, in addition we have created a nice photo wall to show what we can do."
Enthusiastically, Groenewege explains that the new office is not the only innovation in his company. "Since September, my son Ludo also joined the company, he joined the adventure with me and became a partner." Tachup has also added an extra employee for design and DTP. "We want to think in terms of growth and our new location fits in well with this. We can still easily expand in these premises."
Tachup specialises in printing on many different surfaces, such as aluminium Dibond, poplar wood, textiles, canvas, acrylic or HPL panels. "With wallpaper, wall decoration, a new back wall for the hotel bed or foil-covered doors, hotels easily get a metamorphosis. We are actually an intermediary in this process, with a network of partners and manufacturers. Usually, a designer has already chosen the image and we then advise on the choice of material. The images are then printed at museum quality.
It is also possible to choose an image from Tachup's network of photographers and designers. "We are the spider in the web, connecting the customer with the right partners. Our strength is that we never work from warehouse or stock inventory, we always deliver our products on demand." According to Groenewege, his job is also to manage expectations. "We know the properties and limitations of each material. So in advance, we will always indicate if a print will be delivered in two parts, for example, because of the format."
Among other things, this format is a challenge when it comes to the back walls of hotel beds. Increasingly, hotels are choosing to have these replaced by Tachup. "This creates a completely different look and feel to the room, while getting it back into rental quickly. In one week, we can take care of an entire floor by running in a train one after the other." Tachup uses the company's wide material knowledge to choose the right solution that meets all requirements, in terms of budget, hygiene and cleaning. However, the panels must also fit into the hotel's lift and through doorways. "Therefore, often the back walls consist of several parts, this is something we immediately indicate to the customer. Decoration is emotion and we want that emotion to be a positive one!"
Hoteliers often choose Dibond, a harder material that can be printed directly on. However, a foil print is also possible. "This depends entirely on the customer's requirements. The foil is a four-colour print, while with a UV printer we can apply a wider and deeper print, possibly with a protective coating." For a hotel group in Breda and Tilburg, Tachup is currently metamorphosing room doors. This is being done with high-quality film and has many advantages over painting, according to Groenewege. "Despite the cost of assembly and foil, it is cheaper. Sometimes hotels choose a specific colour, for example, we developed a special shade of old pink for Hotel Alkmaar. Here we also printed the floor plan referring to the emergency exit with it. The room number can also be printed, so the possibilities are endless. At B-Apart hotel in The Hague, we already used elements from the works of the Hague School painters, which were also shown on the wall, on all room doors."
