To truly relax, peace and quiet in a hotel room or flat is invaluable. Waardenborg combines high-quality interior doors with matching window frames to achieve this. "With this, we deliver a sound-insulating total product that meets the specified noise requirements," says Tristan Haaksman, project consultant at Waardenborg.
"With sustainable interior doors, we contribute to a pleasant living environment. We are in a unique position because we produce the doors partly in the Netherlands, while the fire-resistant and sound-insulating doors are made by Westag in Germany. Our mission is clear. We want to offer our customers and partners customised solutions that meet their needs and situation."
Waardenborg supplies under three different labels, targeting different applications and markets. Haaksman says: "With Stamm, we focus on the system wall sector, interior construction and high-end residential construction. Under the GarandB label, we supply Westag entrance doors and window frames. With these, we provide hotels with room access and interconnection doors. Under the label Redoor, we will develop the ultimate circular and sustainable interior door."
The requirements, experience and aesthetics vary from project to project. "This is partly determined by the architectural plan, wishes and budget of the hotelier. In addition, the architect's design is of course very important. Under the GarandB label, we translate these wishes into different modules, namely: GarandB Comfort, Comfort Plus and Premium. These three modules consist of high-quality interior doors that meet high sound requirements and a fire-resistance requirement of 30 or 60 minutes. Previously, fire resistance of 30 minutes was required, but due to the shifting of fire compartments in buildings, 60 minutes fire resistance is also becoming more common."
The hardware is assembled in the factory, eliminating the need for on-site machining. The door can be hung immediately. The diversity of hotel locks prompted Waardenborg to work with various suppliers of hotel access systems. Haaksman explains that a hotel is free to choose any possible supplier. "Either way, we provide a suitable product that fully meets all requirements."
Aesthetics are an important factor for hotels when choosing particular doors. "Since we also supply window frames, we can make the door and frame in the same design. That way it really forms a whole. All kinds of different finishes are possible. We think along with the hotel to deliver exactly what they have in mind. A finish from the Fenix collection is often chosen. This matt top layer is very attractive and also maintenance-friendly. Fingerprints cannot be seen on it." Although every hotel has its own look and bases its choices on this, Haaksman does see certain trends. "We notice that metal tones are coming up more. We see this in the HPL top layers of well-known brands such as Getalit, Fenix and Formica. Moreover, wood textures are also becoming more realistic and look even more like veneers."
