"Curtains are more than just fabrics that cover windows," states Richard Breijer, owner and project consultant at furnishing company Roodbeen. "They add a touch of elegance to any room, provide a comfortable sense of warmth, luxury and cosiness and offer guests their privacy. In other words, curtain dressing is a perfect way to impress guests' perception."
"Consider, for example, the use of a striking fabric or colour, dramatic lengths such as floor-to-ceiling curtains, layered solutions or a custom design specially designed with unique prints or patterns related to the hotel's theme or location," Breijer continues.
For design and advice on unique prints and patterns, the Nijkerk-based furnisher of office, leisure and hospitality projects is the right place to go. With their own confection workshop, called VOS, they have been producing curtains for hotels, holiday homes and project furnishings throughout the country for many years.
"Confection is a craft," says Breijer. "We have in-house craftsmen who work on customised products every day and we are unique in the Netherlands with our own atelier. That workshop is really our pride and joy. Here we make all forms of window decoration: curtains, net curtains, folding systems, draperies, bows and more. We also upholster sofas and chairs and make cushions and bedspreads ourselves. This ensures short lines of communication: a project can be realised quickly, no matter how complex."
Roodbeen offers endless choices. Whether it is cushions, curtains or covers, everything is produced in-house and every effort is made to achieve the best result every time.
The craftsmen work with sustainable and high-quality materials that meet a high standard. Breijer: "That also means that the materials are produced fairly, attention is paid to the welfare of people and the environment. And we ensure as little waste as possible and where possible materials are reused."
1. Think linen, bamboo and cotton.
These materials provide a fresh, natural look.
2. Organic and botanical prints
Large-sized flowers and subtle leaf motifs that bring nature in and create a relaxed atmosphere are very popular this summer.
3. Soft pastel colours
Colours that exude coolness and calmness such as soft blues, pinks and mint greens. Perfect for the summer months!
4. Transparent and light fabrics
Inbetween curtains that let natural light through but continue to provide privacy are ideal for creating a light, airy atmosphere.
5. Automated curtain systems
Technologically advanced systems that can be easily controlled remotely provide a comfortable, but above all luxurious feeling.
6. Sustainable and eco-friendly options
With recycled polyester and other sustainable materials, you appeal to environmentally conscious guests.
7. Layered curtain solutions
Combinations of lighter and heavier fabrics provide flexibility in light control and privacy which is, of course, essential for hotel guests.
8. Graphic and geometric patterns
Modern and abstract designs that give a dynamic and contemporary vibe.
9. Thermal and blackout curtains
Essential for controlling temperature and completely blocking light during the long summer days.
10. Textured and textured
Curtains with interesting textures such as rib, jacquard or embroidered details add depth to the room design.
