"Guests have increasingly high expectations, and hotels that dare to invest in luxury and comfort will reap the benefits," says Daan Linders, owner of Head-Boards. The company is committed to translating a hotel's identity into a unique experience for their guests in the best possible way. "We don't just supply products, but offer a complete turnkey solution: from design and design with our in-house design team to production, planning, coordination and installation with our in-house teams."
The company, which originated in the consumer market, has a unique take on luxury hotel experiences. "Because we first focused on consumers, we know better than anyone what a guest expects from a luxury hotel experience," Linders says. "The B2B market soon found its way to us for individual components, but we prefer to approach our collaboration with hotels differently. Our experts can take care of the entire process, from design to implementation, to contribute to the hotel's success."
Head-Boards distinguishes itself not only by providing high-quality products, but by combining innovation, customisation and attention to detail. "We are the designer for your hotel," states Linders. A good example of this approach is the project for a boutique hotel in the Jordaan district, where the company helped upgrade from three to four stars. "We worked closely with the architect, who regularly updated the design, and took care of the entire implementation, from surveying to logistics and project management. For instance, we chose custom-made shelves next to the bed instead of bedside tables, which was less costly but just as functional. At the same time, we invested extra in the headboards, which feature prefabricated electrics and fitted lamps with USB connectors. The upholstery is lumber-proof, as is the case with all our projects. Finally, we turned a large double room into a group room by adding a queen-size bed. This is something unique that few hotels in Amsterdam have." The investment made is now quickly recouped, as the hotel now has four stars and can charge a corresponding room rate.
Within the hotel industry, Linders says there is increasing investment in luxury, with an increasing focus on wellness and extensive facilities. "When people go on holiday and the contrast with their home environment is too great, you have to take steps to address this. Hotels do this by creating more experiences. A great example is Van der Valk Oostzaan, where we were involved in creating long-stay suites. Here, we chose high-quality mattresses that perfectly match the comfort expected of a longstay suite. People are willing to pay more for luxury, and we make sure hotels can make that choice."
Linders stresses that Head-Boards supplies quality mattresses for all hotels that want to distinguish themselves with a good night's sleep. "For a hotel guest's experience, a good mattress is very important. We have therefore tested many mattresses so that we can offer our customers the right quality. For every type of hotel room, whether it is a long-stay suite or a standard room, we offer a matching mattress, equipped with thermally hardened pocket springs from Sweden, for more comfort and less wear and tear. A quality mattress is the
investment, as guests often judge on reviews. If a hotel is known for its comfortable beds, that is a strong USP."
One of Head-Boards' most recent projects is tackling 300 rooms in a hotel in Ibiza. "The client visited our showroom to look at the different possibilities. In the end, in collaboration with the architect, we chose a design that perfectly suited the island's atmosphere. This project illustrates exactly what we stand for: providing a complete turnkey solution, from conception and design to implementation, so that the hotelier can focus on his guests."
With a passionate team of specialists and experienced assembly and project coordinators, Head-Boards aims to be a complete partner for both national and international projects. "We are ready to realise our client's vision and optimise the hotel investment," Linders stresses. "We want to make hotels more profitable not only by making changes to rooms, but also by improving other areas, such as the lobby. Then our marketing and positioning strategy ensures that the hotel gets the attention it deserves. With us as a partner, you are guaranteed flawless execution and success in the hospitality industry."
