A unique experience for your guests that instantly boosts energy and health. Rakesh Latchmansing, general manager of 02-King, explains how oxygen cabins can improve health and guest experience. "Guests suffering from jet lag feel refreshed and energised after an hour in the cabin," he says.
"The air we breathe contains 21 per cent oxygen and is also polluted. In an HBOT oxygen cabin, under pressure of 2 bar, air containing as much as 95 per cent oxygen reaches the body. The pressure ensures that the oxygen is absorbed faster by the lungs. Guests thus quickly experience various health benefits. Athletes like Ronaldo and Messi use an oxygen cabin on a daily basis," Latchmansing explains.
"I sometimes compare the human body to a chemical factory. All body cells work on oxygen. To perform better as a human being or to recover, you need more oxygen. You can easily get this boost in an oxygen cabin. It makes for energetic, rested guests."
The cabin is suitable not only for people who want to relax, but also for those struggling with health problems. "Asthma, brain injury, insomnia or lung covid are examples of conditions that can benefit from increased oxygen supply. Cancer patients and people with poor circulation or ADHD can also benefit from the oxygen cabin. So you offer an extra service to vulnerable target groups in a relaxed atmosphere."
"We give advice on which cabins best suit the target group and we then take care of it from A to Z, from installation to support. You don't need to worry about maintenance. This is maintained by us. As a hotel, you do not have to worry about the purchase or connection. The oxygen cabin is a valuable addition to the fitness or wellness area. The cabins are designed to support and care for the body. By breathing in extra oxygen, you stimulate the production of new blood vessels and strengthen the body's self-healing ability. The cabin takes up little space. A small space of 2 by 3 metres suffices. Oxygen therapy aims to improve the human body. Whether this is for more energy, anti-aging or wound care, the oxygen does the job."
"There are various types of oxygen booths. For instance, you can buy booths for one, two or more people. You can also opt for a reclining cabin or a sitting-reclining cabin. We are currently working on a new Dutch design. It allows two to three people to sit in the oxygen cabin at the same time - to relax or talk in silence. Even meetings become possible this way. You can think of it as the 'new meeting'."
"The oxygen booth allows guests to continue working on their laptop or tablet while enjoying the benefits of supplemental oxygen. Contact with the outside world is maintained. Guests find that they start their holiday, meeting or business trip with more energy. In America, the use of oxygen cabins is much more established. There, people sleep for shorter periods and use oxygen therapy to stay productive. This form of extra oxygen intake can be used to replace a power nap. Or combine it: take your power nap in the oxygen cabin," laughs Latchmansing.
"Taking in extra oxygen has all kinds of benefits for the body and mind. The pure air is good for everyone. Young or old, sporty or less active: the effects are the same for everyone. You want your guests to enjoy their stay relaxed, healthy and energetic. That is possible with the oxygen cabin."
